The city of Kasur is the district headquarter of the District Government, Kasur and is situated about 55 Km southeast of Lahore in the province of Punjab near the border with India. The town is well connected with Lahore by road as well as by rail. Apart from tehsil headquarters, other important towns in the district are Mustafabad, Raja Jhang, Kot Radha Kishan, Khudian, Pattoki, Kanganpur, Bhaipheru, etc.

The city of Kasur with a population of 241,649 as per census of 1998 is expanding like other urban centres at a growth rate of about 3%. The present estimated population is 287,200, would be 325,000 by Year-2010 and 446,000 by the Year-2025.
