Pind Dadan Khan (P.D. Khan) town is located on right bank of River Jhelum 8Kms. away from Khewra Salt range towards South. It is  situated at a distance of 96Kms. from Jhelum which is its district head quarter at its South West and at a distance of 25 Kms. from motor way (M-2) Lillah interchange in its East. The main stream of River Jhelum passes at a distance of 2 to 3 Kms. at its South.

The city had a population of 18,766 persons in year 1998 as per censes report with a growth rate of 2.35%. Due to urbanization, with this growth rate, the town is expected to have a sub project designed year (2006) population of 22,598 persons and will grow to 28,507 persons in year 2016 and 35,961 in the year 2026.
