Abstract of Sub-Projects Shorkot

 

 

Existing Situation:

The roads in Shorkot are in a state of serious disrepair. Infrequent maintenance and improper roadside drainage causes immense difficulties to pedestrians and transporters during rainy season. The rainwater finds no outlet and accumulates on these roads which results in erosion and deterioration of these roads.

Moreover, the present situation is cause of traffic hindrance and environmental pollution which is ultimately affecting the health of the people.

 

Description of Sub Project:

The sub project is comprises of 6 roads namely Old Jhang Road, Old Lorry Adda Road,  Shahid Shaheed Road, Bhirr Road, Madrissa Islamia Road and Main Bazar. Five roads will be surfacing as 1” TST while Main Bazar will be paved using concrete pavers. Walk ways and storm water drains will be provided either on one side or both sides as per site condition.

 

Sub Project Benefits:

The completion of the project will result in the following benefits:

 

• Good road surfaces will be available to the public, which will improve the environment of the town;

• The commercial activities and business in the town will be improved as people feel ease in reaching bazaars which are connected to these streets.

• Public mental tension, frustration will be minimized.

• The town will have a better look.
